Customers of Haggen Food & Pharmacy and TOP Food & Drug stores recently donated more than $57,500 to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Haggen and TOP Food stores in Washington offered Miracle Balloons for $1 apiece for several weeks and conducted other fundraisers this summer for Seattle Children’s. The donations will support uncompensated care, enabling children to receive medical care at the hospital regardless of their family’s ability to pay. The annual drive at Haggen and TOP Food stores now has raised more than $370,000 for uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s since 2004.
“Especially in this economy, our customers were very generous as donations were up 37 percent this year,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for Haggen and TOP Food stores.
Founded in 1907, Seattle Children’s serves as the pediatric referral center for Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Montana. For more information, visit www.seattlechildrens.org.
