March 1, 2011 • Yakima TOP Food & Drug
The Yakima TOP Food & Drug is conducting a food drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 5 to help victims of the recent White Swan fire.
The drive will attempt to fill a van provided by Meredith Furniture, which will deliver the donations to the White Swan Food Bank. Rice, pasta, canned fruit and vegetables and non-perishable food high in protein are ideal for the food bank.
Also, TOP Food & Drug is offering prepackaged $5 bags of food that can be donated. The store will match the first 100 $5 bags that customers donate to the White Swan Food Bank.
White Swan was struck by a fire Feb. 12 that destroyed 18 homes in the community. Approximately 120 residents were left homeless by the fire that destroyed two neighborhoods.
