As we celebrate our 80th birthday, we're proud to reflect on how we've grown since 1933, when Ben and Dorothy Haggen and Doug Clark opened their first store on Bay Street in Bellingham. Certainly, a lot has changed since Ben started with a dream and $1,100—a dream that became a reality with the support of customers who were friends and neighbors.
We think a birthday is a time to celebrate not just growth and change, but also the values we've held on to. TOP continues to be synonymous with quality, service and innovation. Our dedicated employees continue to make sure that TOP customers receive the same care and attention that the company's founders offered their friends and neighbors in that Bay Street store decades ago. The values upon which this family-owned business was founded continue to guide our philosophy, which is why we work so hard to support families and our local communities. Please join us in celebrating all the ways in which TOP has changed through the years—and yet stayed the same.
The Haggen label stands for quality, and you can count on our exclusive brands to deliver. Whether you’re stocking your pantry with Haggen beans and tomatoes, or serving up freshly toasted cinnamon bread from our bakery, you’ll know that we've given our seal of approval.
Enjoy our artisan bread, bagels, donuts and scones, baked fresh in-store each day. Our Market Street Cafe offers an ever-evolving selection of salads, soups and delicious meals. Our produce, meat and seafood is sourced with care from Northwest farmers, ranchers and fishermen. We'll continue to indulge our passion for finding and creating the finest foods so that you can do the same.
In keeping with our tradition of innovation, TOP has added great services over the years that make your life easier and allows us to give back to the community. Most of our stores have a pharmacy, providing a valuable health care resource for you and your family. When it comes to your shopping experience, we always strive to make it better. TOP was the first in the Northwest to introduce in-store wine specialists. Many stores have cheese specialists to assist in your cheese selections. And, with your help, our food drives and fund-raising programs - like School Bucks which has raised more than $765,000 for local schools since it started in 1998 - provides important community support. Our Feed the Need and Beef Counts programs continue to be a great success year after year. Thank You!
