Puyallup TOP Food & Drug Celebrating 15th Anniversary
The Puyallup TOP Food & Drug is celebrating its 15th anniversary with special events Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23.
“We’re grateful that the Puyallup community has supported us during our first 15 years,” said Ron Bashaw, manager of the TOP Food & Drug store at 201 37th Ave. S.E. “We expect to be an active member of this community for many years to come.”
The Puyallup TOP Food & Drug is sponsoring with neighboring businesses a free outdoor showing on Friday, Aug. 22 of “Ratatouille,” the Disney-Pixar animated film of a young rat who dreams of becoming a renowned French chef. The other business sponsors are Shari’s Restaurant, Forza, BECU, Cellular World AT&T, Kinko’s, Black Angus Steakhouse, Sleep Country, The Ram and Rainier Orthopedic.
“Ratatouille” will be shown at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 on a giant inflatable screen in the store’s parking lot and sound will come through car radios. Families are encouraged to arrive early for the best viewing spaces. Free popcorn will be available and prizes will be awarded before the movie. Proceeds from the sale of hot dogs at the movie will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The Puyallup TOP Food & Drug’s anniversary celebration continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 with a basketball hoop shoot, dunk tank, face painting and a brat fry, plus a variety of games and prizes. Donations will be accepted for MDA, which combats neuromuscular diseases through research, medical and community services and professional and public health education.
