TOP Food & Drug Launches Innovative Shopping Tool

TOP Food & Drug stores throughout Washington are launching TOP Connection, a shopping tool unlike any in the Pacific Northwest.

“TOP Connection makes shopping easier,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for TOP Food & Drug. “It’s far different from a typical grocery card that some stores require in order to receive their sale prices. At TOP Food & Drug, everyone gets the sale price, but TOP Connection allows customers to receive automatic credit when something they bought goes on sale within seven days. It enables them to return items instantly with a simple phone call rather than returning to the store. TOP Connection also will notify customers by phone, e-mail or text – their choice – when a product is recalled.”

Other features of TOP Connection include access to one’s purchase and savings history and the ability to create and update an easy-to-use online shopping list.

TOP Connection already has received very positive responses from customers at TOP Food & Drug stores in Tacoma, Olympia, Lacey and Aberdeen, where it was introduced last fall, Skaggs said. The program is being expanded, effective Sunday, July 19, to the other 14 TOP Food & Drug stores in Auburn, Bellevue, Edmonds, Everett, Federal Way, Kent, Lake Tapps, Puyallup, Redmond, Shoreline, Snohomish, Wenatchee, Woodinville and Yakima.

TOP Connection members will receive a seven-day guarantee on their purchases. This means that if a member buys a product at a TOP Food & Drug store and the product’s price goes on sale in the weekly flyer during the next seven days, the difference in the price plus 1 percent will be credited automatically to the account of the TOP Connection member. Credits will accumulate monthly and members will be notified of their credit total on the 15th of each month, which then can be used on a future purchase at the store.

“Everyone that enters our TOP Food & Drug stores will receive our advertised prices, but our TOP Connection members will receive benefits that make their shopping experience easier and save them even more money,” Skaggs said. “TOP Connection rewards members without penalizing those who don’t use it.”

There is no charge to become a member of TOP Connection. To become a member, register at www.top-foods.com, call the TOP Connection toll-free guest-service line at (877) 867-3850 or visit a TOP Food & Drug store. Customer information won’t be shared with other companies.
